Suspension of TSUBAME4.0 Computing Service for FY2026 Summer Maintenance (2026-08-31 to 09-04)

(09-08 Update) We removed all users' passwords between 13:00 and 14:30 today. You can set the password via the TSUBAME Portal. Please do not reuse the previous ones or the ones used elsewhere.

(09-07 Update) Due to a GPU driver malfunction introduced in this maintenance, we're conducting emergency maintenance. As a result, the resumption of CIFS service and the corresponding password reset are postponed to 09-08.

(09-04 Update) The resumption of CIFS access for on-campus users is expected to be delayed until around September 7.　In addition, access passwords will be reset. Please set a new password via the TSUBAME Portal. Do not reuse any previous password or a password used for another service.

2026-07-31

TSUBAME4.0 computing services will be suspended as follows due to intensive maintenance work that cannot be performed during normal TSUBAME4.0 operations.

  1. Suspension period

    2026-08-31 (Mon) 09:00 to 2026-09-04 (Fri) evening

    Please note that the service resumption date and time may change depending on the progress of maintenance work.

  2. Suspended Services
    • Batch Queues
      • Stops all compute nodes
    • TSUBAME Portal
    • Login nodes (login1, login2)
    • Storage services (/home, /work, /gs/bs, /gs/fs)
    • License servers
      • Campus-distributed software that refers to the TSUBAME license server will not be available.
      • We plan to keep the server running as much as possible during this period, but it will be stopped intermittently if necessary.
  3. Changes
    • The storage location of the home directory will be changed from SSD storage to HDD storage.
    • The domain of OpenOnDemand will be changed. Along with this change, the behavior of passkey authentication will also be affected. Refer to the separate announcement for the details.
    • When you log in to a compute node via SSH using node_f, the PID space as seen by processes within the job script differs from the PID space as seen from the terminal connected via SSH. (Added on 08-27)

  4. Others

    TSUBAME4 is installed at Yokohama campus, so it will not be shut down due to power outages caused by regular statutory inspections at Ookayama campus.

    Resumption of the reservation queue is scheduled starting from the 2026-09-07 09:00 slot.
