TSUBAME operations for FY2025 have been started today. The main changes are as follows.
- You need to follow the procedure to continue using your intramural account
- The system software version and the default version of the application have changed
- The price of the application has changed
- The configuration of local storage has changed
- We have started accepting applications for "Research Use Based on Competitive Funds or Joint Research Agreements" for FY2025
1. You need to follow the procedure to continue using your intramural account
At the beginning of each academic year, TSUBAME4 users' TSUBAME accounts will be “temporarily suspended” and they will not be able to log in to TSUBAME until their enrollment confirmation is completed through the account continuity procedure.
If you belong to Science & Engineering Field, please login to the TSUBAME Portal via Portal for Science & Engineering Field and follow the instructions on the screen to apply for renewal account request.
If you belong to Medical and Dental Fields, please wait for the email notification to be sent to you.

4. The configuration of local storage has changed
To prevent problems caused by overflowing /tmp, the capacity of /tmp has been increased.
However, use the local scratch area whenever possible, since /tmp is shared by all jobs in a node and is an area that is not automatically deleted at the end of a job.
Starting in FY2025, the local scratch area can also be referenced by the $T4TMPDIR environment variable.
As a result of this change, the size of the local scratch area allocated to each job has been reduced.
In addition, the information that used to be given in GB (10 to the 9th power) is now given in GiB (2 to the 30th power), which is the same as for quota-related commands.
