Application form for use of software distribution service on campus

Note: All the materials are provided only in Japanese. We do not allow installation by representatives other than the submitted person responsible. If you are not sure whether you can complete the installation alone, please consider asking Japanese-speaking staff to become the person responsible.

The person responsible

The person responsible must be a faculty member (assistant professor or above) or a full-time employee of Tokyo Tech responsible for the budget for the purchase or borrowing of a university-owned PC to be installed.
Applications must be submitted by the person responsible for using the computer.
All correspondence will be sent to the person responsible for using the software.
A TSUBAME account is required to download and install the software.

TSUBAME Group

TSUBAME4.0 requires payment of usage fees in TSUBAME points for using some applications.
If you wish to distribute an application with the number of points listed in the software column, please specify the TSUBAME group to be used for payment of the usage fee.
The responsible user's TSUBAME account must belong to the specified group.
If the administrator of the TSUBAME group is different from the person responsible for the use, the group administrator may also be contacted.
Usage fees are listed based on the number of points per lab/year.

Terminals

Only Tokyo Tech equipment (or consumables) purchased within the user's budget are allowed to install the software. Installation on personally owned terminals is prohibited.
Access to the license server will be restricted based on the terminal name and IP address, so please enter accurate information. If the information provided is incorrect, you may be unable to use the software. If you cannot figure out the IP address, please refer to this page.
Terminals under NAT may be unable to connect to the license server due to laboratory network settings. Please check with your network administrator to ensure your network is configured to allow communication with the license server.

Users

Users need a TSUBAME account.
The license server will restrict users based on their TSUBAME account information, so please fill in the login name of your TSUBAME account correctly.
In addition, the login name of the PC on which the software is used should be set to something that identifies the individual. If it is set to something unidentifiable, such as "user1", the license may be set to be unavailable.

Precautions for Installation

  • Please resolve any installation issues on your own. We cannot provide support for problems that are specific to your device.
  • Please do not leak any information necessary for installation to outside parties.
  • Service provision may be reduced or terminated due to changes in the license form or GSIC's operating policy. The service will also be terminated when the license agreement is terminated. In that case, you will need to uninstall the software.
  • According to TSUBAME's operation policy, the service may be suspended from time to time, and its use may be restricted from time to time.
  • Unauthorized use of the software, such as use on a machine other than the one you have applied for, may result in suspension of your license for the entire university. Please use the software properly.
  • The software may be used only during the fiscal year in which the application is submitted. If you wish to continue using the software the following year, please submit another application.
  • We treat applications submitted using this form as official applications instead of issuing application forms on a document basis like in TSUBAME3, so if your application is incomplete, it will be rejected without correction. If your application is rejected, please re-apply using this form with the correct information.
Software name to apply for
Please select one and check it.
(*1): If you use both Materials Studio and Discovery Studio, you can use it with 600 points in total.
The user responsible must be the faculty member who manages the PC on which the software will be installed.
Please fill in the name of the school, department, course, and laboratory. If there are any deficiencies, the application will not be accepted.
Please enter your campus mailbox number.
Please fill in if you have selected an application that requires a usage fee. Otherwise, leave the default value.
Also, please ensure that the group has TSUBAME points remaining for the usage fee.
Host name domain name of the terminal to be installed, OS version, and local IP address of Tokyo Tech (172.*.*.*) or global IP address (131.112.*.*), one per line, separated by commas. The local IP address (192.168.*.*) is under the router in the lab and cannot be referenced from other networks within the university and may not be accepted as they may not be connected. Also, 131.112.125.2xx is the global IP address of the network system proxy server, not the IP address of the terminal. If you do not know the IP address, please check here.
For the hostname, enter the value returned by the hostname command for Linux and Mac, or the device name shown in “System” -> “About” in the configuration for Windows.
We do not confirm any mistakes in the description, so it may take some time before you can use the device after the registration.
Please indicate any exceptions or other matters that require confirmation here.
If you only need to add users or devices to an application/group that you have already applied for, please indicate so here to make the process a little smoother.
